The stamp set features the clothes of ten designers, charting the modern history of British fashion, from the 1940s styles of Hardy Amies, through to the bold shapes of Alexander McQueen. Other designers and boutiques represented include Vivienne Westwood, Zandra Rhodes and Granny Takes a Trip, the groovy psychedelic shop opened in London in 1965 which was often frequented by pop stars such as the Beatles and Pink Floyd. The Tommy Nutter stamp shows a suit made for Ringo Starr and has been recreated especially for the photo shoot. Meanwhile, the clothes of Paul Smith, who recently designed the Isle of Man’s Olympics stamps, are also featured.
